Throughout April, we’ve been covering Earth Month and looked at four different themes. All of the tips and tricks that have been shared over the last four weeks led to one topic, carbon handprints.
What are carbon handprints?
While carbon footprints measure the negative environmental impact of our actions, carbon handprints represent the positive contributions we make to mitigate climate change. Those contributions help create a more sustainable and resilient environment for us all.
Why Improve Your Carbon Handprint?
Improving your carbon handprint has many advantages:
- It significantly reduces your environmental impact as a whole
- Helps improve the environment we live in on a day-to-day basis
- It saves you money e.g. using energy efficient appliances
- Improves your health by reducing the amount of pollution
Understanding and improving our carbon handprints is essential for achieving our sustainability goals at Southern Housing. This is a great opportunity to think about how you can incorporate sustainability initiatives into your annual objectives to provide safe sustainable homes in good repair.
Our colleagues and residents are already taking simple steps towards improving their carbon handprints. Here are some examples of what’s happening…
