Since our merger in 2022, we’ve been reviewing how we deliver services across our homes to ensure that they’re consistent, efficient, and provide the best possible experience for our residents.
Part of that involved a robust procurement process to streamline our contracts responsible for cyclical decorations.
As a result, we went from five separate legacy contracts to just two partners who, together, will cover our programme areas across the South of England:
- AD Construction Group Ltd – East London, Essex, Kent, East Sussex, and East Surrey
- CLC Contractors Ltd – West London, Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Brighton, West Sussex, and Surrey
The programme includes external painting and wash-down of building surfaces, cleaning of roofline areas and windows, as well as internal painting of walls, ceilings, and woodwork in communal areas. We will also carry out minor repairs that help maintain the quality and comfort of our residents’ living environments.
This is a major step in improving the quality, consistency, and long-term maintenance of our residents’ homes. It means greater consistency in how works are delivered and ensures higher standards.
Our residents will benefit from contractors who get to know the homes and communities, delivering a more reliable service with less disruption. These arrangements also reduce unnecessary travel and emissions, supporting a more sustainable approach to maintaining homes.
As we begin working under these new arrangements, we’ll be carrying out pilot works at a small selection of homes. These pilots will help make sure our new partners fully understand our standards and know how to minimise any disruption while delivering works to a consistently high quality for our residents.
We’re really excited about the positive difference these changes will bring to our homes and communities.
