We were really encouraged by the strong level of interest and the high quality of tender applications received. This reflects a growing appetite for practical learning about how residents can shape decisions at a strategic level.
Our selection focused on finding a partner with the right balance of evaluative rigour and a values-led approach to resident involvement. Campbell Tickell stood out for their ability not only to deliver robust research, but also to share the learning widely so others across the sector can benefit from the insights.
We are now looking forward to the research beginning, as making a meaningful contribution to strengthening the national residents’ perspective remains central to our mission
What happens next
Funded by the Government’s Social Housing Innovation Fund, Southern Housing is coordinating this work on behalf of the G15 Residents’ Group (G15RG), which brings together residents from London’s largest housing associations.
Over the coming months Campbell Tickell will begin an evidence-gathering phase, working alongside residents and G15 landlords to build a rounded picture of how the G15RG currently works in practice, and what enables or limits its impact. They’ll assess what improvements could strengthen the group’s influence and effectiveness.
We’ll share interim learning later in 2026 with the project running until March 2027. A report and practical toolkit will share how the model could be adapted and replicated by others seeking to establish cross-organisational resident voice.
