What are retrofit upgrades?
We’re committed to making homes warmer, healthier and more energy‑efficient for today’s residents and future generations.
And that's why we're investing in Project FutureFit, our retrofitting programme to install energy‑saving measures such as heat pumps, insulation, and solar panels to homes that are rated below an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) grade C, helping to reduce energy consumption and improve comfort.
These upgrades not only help reduce carbon emissions but also support residents by lowering energy use, cutting energy bills, and creating a more comfortable living environment all year round.
What can I expect?
To help you understand the process, we’ve created the Resident Retrofit Journey: a clear, step‑by‑step guide explaining how retrofit works, who is involved, and the support residents can expect at every stage.
The journey was created by you, for you. We’ve spoken to residents who have already been through the process, alongside our resident sustainability champions – to make sure the document covers everything you need to know.
“We’re on the journey to improve our homes, clean our green spaces and help our planet. Residents know their home and community best, so they need to be at the heart of retrofit programmes.
Our residents are not only on board, they’re in the driving seat, shaping what the homes of tomorrow will look like. This document shows residents the full retrofit journey so they understand the process and benefits of retrofitting.”
