This involves the demolition of Taverner House (one of four residential blocks formerly comprising the estate) and its replacement with three new buildings ranging from three to seven storeys in height.
These will feature 61 new homes, 37 of which will be affordable – a mix of social rent, Hackney living rent and shared ownership – with the remaining homes for open market sale.

Residents have been kept involved and updated throughout the redevelopment process. We held several public consultation events to ensure residents on the estate or nearby had the opportunity to shape our plans. Former residents of Taverner House have also all been offered the chance to live at the new development if they wish.
Hackney Council kindly provided grant investment for the regeneration and the three councillors were very pleased with works on site.
Works started in December 2021 and are due to complete a little over a year from now in May 2026.
Besides providing new, much-needed affordable homes, we’re also improving the community amenity space and facilities for all.
Our contractor, United Living, are contributing to our food poverty work programme across our estates and community centres in Hackney as part of our mission to secure social value through regeneration.
