Across Southern Housing, Regional Residents’ Panels have been discussing a range of topics affecting residents. Here are some of the key messages:

- Your local knowledge and lived experience are invaluable and should continue to shape decisions about homes, estates and services.

Our Resident Governance Panels work directly with senior leaders to improve services, influence decisions and make sure residents' voices are heard. Members have helped shape policies, challenge performance and influence changes that affect thousands of residents.
If you've ever thought "someone should do something about that" – this is your opportunity to be involved.
We're looking for new members across all our panels, with particular opportunities in:
- Kent and Essex
- Sussex
- Midlands
- Berkshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey and Hampshire
- London
- Resident Scrutiny and Policy Panel (You can live anywhere).
Why get involved?
By joining a panel you can:
- Influence decisions that affect residents
- Help improve services

- Claim a £40 involvement payment for each meeting attended.
You don't need experience; we're looking for residents who:
- Care about their community
- Can share their experiences and views
- Want to help improve services
- Are willing to listen and work with others.
We'll provide training, support and guidance to help you succeed.
How much time does it take?
Most panels meet four times a year and members spend less than a few hours each quarter helping shape our services.
Meetings
Meetings are usually online and last around 90 minutes. They're held in the evening between 5.30 and 7.30pm. Papers are sent in advance.
- Berkshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey and Hampshire (BISH) Regional Residents' Panel meeting takes place on Tuesday 1 September 2026, 6pm to 7.30pm
- Midlands Regional Residents' Panel meeting takes place on Wednesday 2 September 2026, 5.30pm to 7pm
- Sussex Regional Residents' Panel Meeting takes place on Thursday 3 September 2026, 5.30pm to 7pm
- London Regional Residents' Panel Meeting takes place on Monday 7 September 2026, 6pm to 7.30pm
- Kent and Essex Regional Residents' Panel Meeting takes place on Wednesday 9 September 2026, 5.30pm to 7pm.
