Simon Allen, Sheltered Housing Officer at The Mustchin Foundation in Arundel, recently ran a hands-on training session for residents on how to use a defibrillator and perform CPR.

Simon brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked for many years in the NHS as a cardiac nurse and trainer. His passion for heart health is still going strong, and when residents showed interest in learning more, Simon was more than happy to help - especially as the session took place on Start a Heart Day.

Using a defibrillator on-site, Simon demonstrated how the device guides users step-by-step. Residents left feeling more confident about what to do in an emergency and said they found the session really useful, so we’re planning to run another one soon.

Simon has also delivered the presentation to our Independent Living Teams in Horsham and Brighton, helping colleagues feel prepared too.
