We’re delighted to celebrate the opening of a brand-new community hub at Spanners Close, Chale Green, on the Isle of Wight, which will serve as a vibrant centre for residents of Chale and Southern Housing residents living in Spanners Close.
Developed by the charity South Wight Area Youth (SWAY), the hub replaces the old outreach cabin with a modern, purpose-built facility. It includes:
- A community café for informal meetups and socialising
- A main hall for events, workshops, and youth activities
- A meeting room and office space for local services.
We’re incredibly proud to have collaborated with SWAY to help bring this project to life, supporting the creation of a space that fosters connection, wellbeing, and opportunity for our residents and the wider community.
As part of this ongoing partnership, Tracy Webster, Places & Community Partnerships Co-ordinator, is now working closely with the hub manager and residents to understand their needs and explore ideas for future projects and activities. This is a chance for residents to shape the space and ensure it reflects what matters most to them.
We encourage our residents in Spanners Close to get involved, share their thoughts, and make the most of this fantastic new resource.
