Why have we launched the strategy?

We believe building safety is a shared responsibility, and our residents' voices are crucial to this. Our Resident Engagement Strategy sets out how we work with our residents in higher-risk buildings (HRB) to involve them in decision making, listen to and act on their concerns, and share safety information.

We’re committed to building strong, open relationships with residents, so they feel informed, confident and able to speak up. We want everyone to feel safe in their home and supported while they live with us.

The strategy was shaped with residents, colleagues and board members working together.

It gives residents a stronger voice in building safety, using their lived experience to guide our decisions and helping us keep improving the way we do things.

What you’ll find inside:

  • Our commitment to communicating with residents in an accessible format
  • How and when we’ll engage residents on building safety decisions
  • How we’ll seek feedback on the strategy
  • What building safety information we will and won't share with residents
  • Residents’ responsibilities in building safety
  • How to make a building safety complaint.

Engagement plans

All of our HRB have their own dedicated engagement plan, which sets out key responsibilities and how we’ll engage and consult with residents throughout their tenancy. Simply put, our strategy sets our vision, and our engagement plans explain how we’ll achieve it.

How to get involved

To ensure the strategy and engagement plans meet residents’ needs, we’ll consult with residents every two years or whenever something important happens that affects building safety.

We’ll soon be inviting residents to have their say on the latest version of our strategy. All residents in our HRB will receive an invitation to take our survey by Friday 20 February. If you’ve not received this, or if you’ve misplaced it, please contact us. The survey will close on Friday 3 April.
