- Safety remains a top priority; specific concerns include CCTV in parks and anti social behaviour
- Provide seating areas
- Preference for welcoming, homely designs using brick and glass
- Requests for front gardens on streets to improve accessibility
- Demand for bungalows, 4-bed houses (for families), and ground-floor accessible flats with space for carers
The first draft ideas of the masterplan were shared. The feedback from the 28 March and 30 March events helped shape these:
Idea 1:
- Positive feedback for shared private spaces for flats and access to spaces for planting
- Central location for the community centre
- Request to preserve the memorial tree and plaque to the north of the site
- Consider an additional connecting road.
Idea 2:
- Preference for diverse mix of house types
- Community centre located near the lower level near the existing bus stops
- Suggestion to incorporate historical names (Bevin, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Churchill) to signpost flat blocks.
Idea 3:
- Praise for smaller green spaces tailored to different age groups
- Balance street connectivity with creating hiding places.
