We’re pleased to share that the first phase of our fire door replacement and fire stopping programme at Platt Halls in North West London is now complete.

Over the summer we completed the following works:

529 doors replaced
7 student accommodation blocks had compartmentation issues resolved

Thanks to great teamwork and careful planning, everything was finished on time - ready for students returning for the new academic year.

There were a few unexpected challenges along the way, but we worked closely with our internal teams and specialist contractor, RAAM, to keep things on track.

We’re now getting ready for phase two, with work planned at the remaining student halls over the next 12 months.

Laura Jones, Head of Fire Safety Delivery, said: “Keeping our residents safe is always our top priority. We’re acting on fire risk assessments and making important safety upgrades.

“Despite a few bumps in the road, our teams and contractors pulled together to complete phase one before our new residents arrived. We’re now focused on planning our next phase and making even more improvements over the next year.”
