Southern Housing gave me a house but it also gave me hope. It gave me a platform to be able to rebuild my life from that house. I got a job and then I was able to progress from there. I think the sector is something we all need to protect and advocate for because if we didn't have social housing we'd be in an even more challenging situation. And people like me wouldn't have any hope. It gives people a lifeline when they most need it - the most vulnerable in society.
